Purchase guarantee

Animali in Vendita provides a comprehensive purchase guarantee that integrates a legally binding sales contract, a 12‑month genetic health warranty, and full consumer protection under EU law. We want you to buy with confidence, knowing that your new companion is healthy, well‑socialized, and fully covered.

1. Sales contract – what’s included?

Before finalizing any purchase, you will receive a detailed sales contract that clearly states:

• Full identity of the buyer and the breeder (license number, facility registration).
• Complete description of the animal (species, breed, gender, date of birth, microchip number, pedigree if applicable).
• Copies of all health certificates, vaccination records, and genetic test results (e.g., hip scores, PRA, HCM, PBFD).
• Purchase price, payment terms, and shipping costs.
• Delivery conditions and the 48‑hour post‑delivery observation period.
• 12‑month genetic guarantee and the process to claim it.
• Right of withdrawal (14 days cooling‑off period) as per EU consumer law.

The contract is sent digitally, and you have at least 24 hours to review it before signing. No hidden fees or ambiguous clauses – we believe in full transparency.

2. 12‑month genetic health guarantee

All animals (puppies, kittens, parrots, reptiles, primates, exotics) are covered by a 12‑month genetic health warranty starting from the delivery date. This guarantee specifically covers:

• Dogs & cats: hip/elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM for cats), patellar luxation, and other breed‑specific hereditary disorders documented by a licensed veterinarian.
• Parrots: PBFD, psittacosis, polyomavirus, aspergillosis (congenital).
• Primates & exotic mammals: genetic metabolic disorders, congenital malformations.
• Reptiles: metabolic bone disease (MBD), congenital deformities, internal parasites (if diagnosed within 14 days).

If a covered condition is diagnosed, you are entitled to:

• A full refund of the purchase price (if you choose not to keep the animal).
• Replacement with another animal of equal or similar value (when available).
• Reimbursement of veterinary costs up to €500 (after pre‑authorization).

To activate the guarantee, submit the veterinary report, photos, and lab results within 7 days of diagnosis to warranty@animalinvendita.com. Our veterinary panel will review your case within 14 days.

3. 48‑hour health observation period

Because risk of infectious diseases is highest immediately after transport, we strongly recommend that you have your animal checked by a local veterinarian within 48 hours of delivery. If any acute illness (e.g., parvovirus, coccidia, respiratory infection) is detected and confirmed by a vet report, we will cover 100% of the treatment costs up to €500 OR offer a replacement/refund. This is in addition to the 12‑month genetic guarantee.

4. Delivery guarantee

We personally organize shipping with IATA‑certified couriers. Our delivery guarantee includes:

• Live tracking link provided 24 hours before dispatch.
• Arrival within the agreed time window (± 4 hours).
• If the animal arrives dead or in critical condition (documented immediately), you get a 100% refund plus shipping costs.
• If the animal arrives with visible injuries (e.g., broken limb, lacerations) due to transport, we cover all immediate veterinary care and compensate with a 20% discount on a future purchase.

5. Right of withdrawal (change of mind)

Under the Consumer Rights Directive, you may cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the animal without giving any reason. You must notify us in writing and return the animal in its original condition. Return shipping is at your expense (unless the animal has a health issue). Refund (purchase price minus initial shipping) is processed within 14 days after we receive the animal back.

Exceptions: Fertile parrot eggs, animals that have been significantly changed after delivery, or CITES species after 7 days.

6. Post‑sale support

All buyers receive 3 months of free post‑sale support – ask our team of veterinarians, trainers, and nutritionists any questions about feeding, behaviour, or health checks. We also provide a comprehensive care guide specific to the species/breed you purchased.

7. Exclusion of liability

The purchase guarantee does NOT cover:

• Injuries or illnesses caused by the buyer after delivery (e.g., falls, poisoning, fights with other animals).
• Behavioural problems that are not linked to a genetic condition (e.g., fear biting, destructiveness).
• Minor cosmetic imperfections (colour variation, tail length, ear set).
• Force majeure during transport (covered by shipping insurance).

8. Legal compliance

Our guarantee does not replace your statutory rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the Italian Consumer Code (D.lgs. 206/2005). In case of discrepancy, the more favourable provision for the consumer applies.
